Schools Rugby - Hinckley Rugby Club
Hinckley RFC Community Rugby
The Hinckley RFC Community Rugby programme was established in 2006 to introduce rugby into local Primary schools in the Hinckley region during school time, and is endorsed through Hinckley RFC's Seal of Approval Accreditation, awarded by the RFU.
Hundreds of children from schools in Hinckley, Burbage, Barwell, Earl Shilton, Nuneaton, Wolvey, Sapcote and Stoney Stanton have already taken part in a pilot of the scheme.
Trained Hinckley RFC coaches visit schools to provide a 5 week introduction to rugby to boys and girls from year 2 to year 6.
Hinckley RFC are extremely grateful that ‘The Electricity Alliance’ have become main sponsors of the Hinckley RFC Community Rugby Programme, which was piloted in 2006 to introduce rugby into local Primary schools in the Hinckley region.

Fergus Campbell from National Grid said “The Electricity Alliance between National Grid and Balfour Beatty are delighted to sponsor this initiative and to support the local Community by helping Hinckley Rugby Club to introduce rugby into schools”.

At the end of the season the schools get together for a Festival of Rugby culminating in the finals where the winning school gets to keep the Electricity Alliance Champions Trophy for a year. Last Year's finalists clearly enjoyed themselves... and this year’s programme is already underway, with St Mary’s Primary School first to receive their presentations.
All coaches are CRB checked and there is no charge to the school.
Local schools wishing to participate in schools rugby should contact the Hinckley RFC Community Head Coach – Mick Croasdale on 07715 541865.
