Simon Boyd Is Appointed Head of Community @ Hinckley RFC

Hinckley Rugby Club and Sports In Schools are delighted to announce the appointment of former RFU rugby development officer for the women’s game, Simon Boyd, as the Head of Community of the newly formed department.

Boyd has an impressive coaching CV that has seen him working across 5 counties covering 80+ clubs for the development of the women’s game.

Simon commented: “I’m excited to be working with Hinckley Rugby Club and Sports in Schools in this new venture. The newly formed Community Department is a fantastic opportunity for the club to build on their community engagement and further establish themselves as a real community club. I’m passionate about rugby and the benefits it can bring to individuals and to the community. Hinckley Rugby is steeped in history and has many dedicated volunteers supporting the club and I look forward to being a part of this and driving club engagement within the community.”

On the appointment the Managing Director of Sports In Schools, Matt Price said,
“We are delighted to have Simon on board to lead the community department at Hinckley Rugby Club. The club has a well-established place in the community already however we feel this is just the start and it’s great Simon sees that too.”

“Simon will work closely with our other heads of communities at our other partnering clubs to ensure we are offering the very best in engagement for the community. Simon’s background in developing the game was a big plus for us and we are looking forward to welcoming him in.”

Hinckley Rugby Club Chairman, John Tilley added,
“Simon will be a great addition to Hinckley Rugby Club and to rugby in the area in general. He brings great experience and expertise, and he will be immediately looking to develop strong relationships within schools and local organisations. Hinckley Rugby Club is very open and welcoming, and will be looking to further its reputation of introducing and delivering long term sporting opportunity. As a community rugby club, we need to support our local community and be touching hearts and minds. Simon’s appointment will help us move closer to achieving this goal.”
