Under 9s team information for the season.


Special Notice

As of Friday 7th November 2008 the Under 9's will be training each Friday from 18:00 to 19:00 on the all weather pitch at John Cleveland College ("JCC"). As we'll be training on the all weather pitch I would suggest players and coaches wear trainers rather than boots. Astro-turf trainers even better as they provide better grip on this type of surface.

Everyone is welcome and new players are especially welcome. As Friday night is training night, don't forget your 'ugly socks'...

Welcome

Welcome to the Hinckley Under 9s. Hinckley boasts a strong rugby heritage which continues to be developed from the grass roots up. The Under 9's have three England Rugby Football Union (“RFU”) qualified coaches who have also completed the required 'Safe Guarding and Protecting Children in Rugby Training Course'.

As a coaching team the focus is on developing the fundamental skills of the game with our young players. Bearing in mind the age of our players we place a large emphasis on FUN when coaching the fundamentals!

We are a very friendly bunch of enthusiastic players, coaches, parents and volunteers. Training is generally on Friday evenings from 18:00 to 19:00 at Hinckley RFC with either fixtures or training on Sunday mornings from 10:30am onwards. Why not get in touch, join in the fun and make new friends...

Our primary sponsor is a company called Sporting Dreams. Sporting Dreams was formed in 1999 and have successfully organised Fun Sports and Dance Activities throughout the Midlands for thousands of boys and girls of all abilities. Their focus is on creating healthy and happy lifestyles.

The 'Hinckley & Burbage Lions' kindly purchased an all-weather tent for us which is used primarily as a First Aid facility and secondly to provide shelter for the children whilst playing matches.

Training

Throughout September the Under 9s will be training on Friday nights from 18:00 to 19:00 at the rugby club and on Sunday mornings from 10:30 to 12:00.
