7 players make first Leicester Road appearances

Hinckley return to Leicester Road on Saturday afternoon for the 1st time, since their play-off victory over Wirral 4 months ago, facing a significant challenge against Cinderford, recently relegated from National 1.

Following pre-season fixtures in against Clifton and Syston, this will be the last run out before the National 2 North campaign begins away at Harrogate and there are a number of new faces who will feature.

With 7 debutants already appearing in pre-season fixtures so far, Saturday will see the 1st appearance in a Hinckley shirt of Wasps trio Ehize Ehizode, Connor Eastgate and Jacob Umaga who have been signed for the season around their A-League commitments at the Coventry outfit. All are players in the Wasps Senior Academy and are coming off a full pre-season with the first team, with Eastgate picking up a winners medal in the Singha Premiership 7s and Umaga recently returning from South Africa with England U18's.

Also appearing in a Hinckley shirt for the first time will be back row Craig Fillier who has joined from the Army, whilst their will also be first appearances at Leicester Road for former university players Connor Mitchell (Sheffield Hallam), and Glen Murray, (University of Nottingham), whilst player coach and former All Black Scott Hamilton has also been named in the squad.

Also on Saturday, the Staghounds have a significant test against Newark 1st XV of Midlands 2 East, kicking off at 1pm on the 1st team pitch and the annual Sausage and Cider Festival is also back across the weekend.
