Match 1
Hinckley opened the scoring with a well worked move, passing the ball down the line for Morrissey to touchdown in the corner. Lutterworth were gifted 2 easy try’s by Hinckley uncharacteristically missing tackles. Hinckley regrouped and went into the break 3-2 up thanks to a try a piece from the Whittingham twins.
The second half saw an improved Hinckley defence stopping Lutterworth in their tracks with excellent tackling and constantly turning the ball over in the ruck. Two more try’s from Whittingham A and Mensforth-Grove secured a convincing victory 5-2.
Match 2
The second and final game of the day saw Hinckley carry on where they left off, stopping Lutterworth early and turning the ball over. Duggins ploughed towards the line with half of the opposition hanging off him, popped the ball to Burton to score the first try. A quick thinking Barnes scored next, from Lutterworth turning their backs after conceding a penalty and running straight through their dazed defence.
The second half was much the same with Hinckley defending well and putting constant pressure on Lutterworth’s tiring defence. Whittingham A scoring Hinckleys only second half try before Lutterworth sneaked a consolation try, final score 3-1 to Hinckley.
Every one of Hinckleys players all put in a good shift, and played excellently as a team. Well done Boys and Girl.
