First game of the morning was dominated by Hinckley, spending the entire game in Barker Butts half. Solid defence and good handling from the whole Hinckley team resulted in a well deserved win 5-0. Try's from Wainde, Drakeford, Barnes & Salisbury(2).
Second game of the day was a lot closer affair due to Barkers having the 10th man advantage. With some very poor decisions by the man in the middle Hinckley managed to scrape a 3-2 victory. Try's from Drakeford(2) & Elcoat. Despite the disadvantage Hinckley played some excellent rugby and was always in control.
For the Third and final game of the day the ref put on "John Inverdale's" glasses and ruined a good game of Rugby. With decisions constantly going against Hinckley for perfectly good tackles and alleged handing off, he seemed to be making it up as he went along. Sending Barnes off for coming in at the site, being off his feet and high tackling all at the same time???
First half try's from Goodwin & Burton was not enough to complete a hat-trick of wins, losing the last game 2-4.
The whole Hinckley team played with courage against a big and physical opposition, they proved that team work and determination will win in the end.
