Hinckley entered two mixed teams into their own festival

Hinckley festival u12s (HINCKLEY 1)

Hinckley 1 vs Nuneaton

First up for Hinckley 1 was Nuneaton and with both sides wanting to make a good start in today’s tournament
Hinckley started at a fast pace and pressed Nuneaton from the off, but Nuneaton’s defence held Hinckley off until just before half time ,when Hutton and Moore linked up brilliantly for Moore to put Hinckley 1-0 up at the break
The second half was more of the same as Hinckley kept momentum and pushed Nuneaton back not giving them any chances to gain ground in Hinckley’s half, with some fierce tackles coming from both sides it was Hinckley who took advantage of a loose ball and Salisbury making a great run through to make it 2-0 to Hinckley and a convincing win

Hinckley 1 vs market Harborough

Next up for Hinckley 1 was a market Harborough team who looked a great side from the off.
Hinckley battled well and put some fantastic tackles in but it was market Harborough who took the lead midway through the first half with good fast passing down the line to pass Hinckley’s defence.
Market Harborough doubled their lead just before half time with some great work by their forwards
The second half started well for Hinckley with all the members of the team hitting tackles hard and chasing down well, but market Harborough quickly showed their fast passing and well drilled team as they outplayed the Hinckley defence which resulted in 3 more try’s scored to make the final score 0-5 to market Harborough

Hinckley 1 vs barker butts

With Hinckley looking to bounce back from defeat against market Harborough, it was clear to see the team were fired up and ready to attack barker butts from the start
Both teams passed well during the first half but it was Hinckley who took advantage midway through the half with Toon driving through a tough defence to score for Hinckley, barker butts quickly responded with a try of their own making it 1-1 at half time
The second half was more of the same as Hinckley continued to keep possession well and made some crunching tackles but could not penetrate the determined barker defence
Final score 1-1

Hinckley 1 vs pavoirs

With pavoirs vowing out due to injuries unfortunately this game not played but was given as a 2-0 win for Hinckley

Hinckley 1 vs Hinckley 2

Final game of the day was to see the two Hinckley sides take on each other, in what proved to be a fairly one sided but entertaining game to watch
Hinckley 2 started the better of the two teams pressing and forcing Hinckley 1 into making a few mistakes, resulting in Hinckley 2 taking the advantage with L .Whittingham scoring with a great run through the defence.
Hinckley 1 started to pass better and press higher up the pitch putting Hinckley 2 on the back foot for the rest of the half, as the pressure built up Hinckley 1 finally scored with Drakeford forcing his way through to make it 1-1.
With Hinckley 1 now keeping possession they quickly took the lead with Moore just before half time.
In the second half Hinckley 1 finished the game off in style turning Hinckley 2 over several times and forcing mistakes with 3 more try’s from Drakeford and a try from Moore completed the game with a convincing 6-1 win

Hinckley festival u12s (HINCKLEY 2)

Hinckley 2 vs barker butts

First up for Hinckley 2 was barker butts as both teams looked to get off to a winning start
Both sides were tackling hard and the passing by both teams was good to watch as neither side wanted to give anything away, Hinckley battled hard to stop some great runs by barker butts forwards and the half ended with nothing between the two sides
The second half started well for barker butts and they scored two try’s in quick succession to give them a 2-0 lead but Hinckley kept pressing and tackling hard, and it paid off with Burton weaving his way round their defence scoring for Hinckley
Hinckley kept up the pressure and was unlucky not to level the scores just before the final whistle
Final score 2-1 to barker butts

Hinckley 2 vs paviors

Hinckley were now fired up from losing to barker butts after playing so well, and it was pavoirs who were going to suffer
Hinckley dominated the possession from the start and Hinckley’s quick passing opened up the paviors back line with Goodwin and Barns both scoring to put Hinckley well on top ,Hinckley kept the pressure on and Burton made it 3-0 just before half time
Hinckley took charge in the second half and played some great rugby with try’s from Wainde and Fenion adding to the score line to complete this well-deserved 5-0 victory.

Hinckley 2 vs Nuneaton

Nuneaton started brightly and put Hinckley under pressure from the start, with both sides tackling well it was Nuneaton who took a deserved lead midway through the half breaking through the Hinckley back line, Hinckley took some big hits from some big player’s but couldn’t break down Nuneaton’s defence .
The second half started well for Hinckley with L. Whittingham catching the ball from the kick off and using the space down the wing to level the scores, with Hinckley now looking to take the advantage the team pressed forward and started to play some fantastic rugby, this was rewarded with Burton scoring and putting Hinckley in front
Hinckley continued to keep up the work high rate and two more try’s from L. Whittingham completed the victory
Final score Hinckley win 4-1

Hinckley 2 vs market Harborough

The game started with both sides playing well and not giving much away but it was market Harborough who took the lead with a demonstration in fast passing and good organised lines with two quick try’s to take the lead, market Harborough then dominated the possession for the rest of the half with Hinckley having to dig in, but market Harborough’s determination earned them another try just before half time to make it 0-3
Second half and market Harborough hit Hinckley straight from the restart to score in the corner putting the game out of reach for Hinckley
Hinckley battled on and played some good rugby, but silly mistakes cost Hinckley another try to Harborough who were the better team on the day
Final score Hinckley lose 5-0
