Hinckley Under 12’s travelled to old foes Broadstreet for two well contested games of Rugby In blustery conditions.

After a well-respected minute silence for the Paris atrocities, Hinckley got off to a good start, winning the toss and electing to receive the kick. With the wind in their favour they quickly put pressure on Broadstreet running straight at them and moving the ball down the line to each wing.
Early tries from Moore, Goodwin and the Whittingham twins put Hinckley in control. Broadstreet struggled to get out of their own half due to Hinckley’s excellent line speed and constant pressure. Hinckley was excellent at the breakdown turning over possession on numerous occasions. Moore’s perfectly timed grubber kick and chase down resulted in the Try of the day, and Whittingham made it 6-0 on the stroke of Half time.
With the wind against Hinckley in the second half, their excellent whole team tackling, line speed and dominance at the breakdown kept Broadstreet at bay, only conceding a try in the last play of the game.
The second game of the day was a much closer affair as Broadstreet tried their hardest to break through Hinckley’s strong defense. Try’s from Wainde and Goodwin secured a well-deserved 2-0 victory.
The whole Hinckley team should be proud of their performance. Proving hard work and discipline will produce results.
Burton named coaches Man of the Match.
