Under 8's lift the cup & plate at Ashby Tag Festival

Hinckley bring home the silverware from Ashby Festival.

HRFC under8’s took 2 teams to Ashby festival at the weekend the Bees and the Wasps. They both played 3 group games the wasps losing 9-5 to Sutton, winning 11-8 against Barton & then losing 8-6 to LFE this saw them into the plate semi final which was very close but the wasps won 8-7 against Ashby B. The Wasps took on Ashby A in the plate final another close game and the only thing that could separate them was the first try scored, which unfortunately was scored by Ashby final score 8-8. The Bees group games saw them win 7-2 against Sutton, 8-6 against Barton under Needwood & 12-6 against Market Bosworth. This took the wasps through to the semi final of the cup, against Lichfield B, who also had not lost a game all morning. The wasps showed off some great rugby and won 7-2. Into the final of the cup the Wasps now had to take on Lichfield A. In one of closest games of the day the wasps really had to dig deep and show just what they where made of with some great defensive tagging, direct running and support play the team really came together and won 5-4.
What an amazing achievement to lift the cup 2 years running at Ashby tag festival.
