Staying fit and healthy is essential for people of all ages, but it is especially important as we get older or suffer from long term health conditions. Regular exercise has been proven to help prevent and improve a range of health problems including heart disease, diabetes and osteoporosis. Additionally staying active also has huge benefits on both mental health and overall quality of life.

Regular exercise for the elderly can also result in the following day to day benefits

  • Increased energy levels
  • Reduce the risk of falls
  • Improve sleep
  • Boost general mobility
  • Boost Confidence

The programme we are delivering at Hinckley Rugby Club aims to help people become more active through activity based sessions. These sessions will consist of playing low impact sports such as Walking Rugby, Walking Football, Rounders, table tennis and nature walks. During the sessions participants will be able to move at their own pace and only do as much as they feel that they are comfortable with.
We will also be holding regular classroom sessions where there will be a focus on how to get fit, healthier eating and how to improve mental wellbeing.

At the end of each session attendees will have an opportunity to socialise at the onsite Everyday Living Cafe.
