As a club, we couldn’t sit idly by whilst large numbers of children and families were under the pump.

“Sometimes it is very easy to focus on your own bubble and miss the fact that people around you are suffering greatly. We have tried to lift our eyes and try to do our bit to support our local community.
- HRFC Committee

Hinckley Rugby Club takes its position as a community club very seriously. None more so than at a time when local people are suffering, mostly unseen. Although as a club, we have had to deal with our own significant financial setbacks since last March, we couldn’t sit idly by whilst large numbers of children and families were under the pump.

Apart from rugby, we are known for our catering capabilities, whether that be for large pre-match dinners, catering for weddings & hospitality events or most recently the opening of the Old Clubhouse Cafe. After careful consideration and conversations with our sponsors, and their help, Hinckley Rugby Club are producing 500 meals a day for various agencies to distribute to children and their families of concern during the weekdays of the coming half term - Monday 15th February - Friday 19th February 2021.

Please note, the meals will only be available through the following agencies:

  • The Hinckley Methodist Church for Earl Shilton & Barwell
  • Newlands School
  • Heath Lane School
  • St Francis Centre
  • Redmoor School

The lunches will contain at least 5 different vegetables and be as follows:

  • Monday 15th Feb - Cottage Pie
  • Tuesday 16th Feb - Sausage Casserole
  • Wednesday 17th Feb - Pasta Bake
  • Thursday 18th Feb - Beef Stew
  • Friday 19th Feb - Chicken Casserole

Each portion will be individually packaged. We hope you enjoy.

HRFC Sponsors
Without our sponsors we would not be in position to help. Our sponsors are mainly local companies. Over many years, they have been very supportive of Hinckley RFC so to pass on their support to help the local community is a great privilege. All our sponsors have contributed with DPD, our main sponsor, contributing an extra £1,000. We would like to thank them all for their generous support. Please take the time to check them out and show them some serious support.

HRFC Volunteers
Every good club has great volunteers who put the cause before themselves at times. HRFC have their fair share and a good number of them will be helping out through the week. Worth a special mention are Lucy Flatters, Netty Alesbrrok and Ian Sands who will be volunteering their time to ensure the food is prepped and cooked ready on time each day.

HRFC Members
HRFC members are supporting this cause as they believe in the greater good. It's not always about the rugby but also what we can do as a collective to make our community a better place.

HRFC Donators
Local businesses, who are not sponsors and HRFC suppliers have also donated to the cause to help this happen. They include:

Finally...
The easiest thing would have been to do nothing but sometimes nothing is nowhere near enough. As a rugby club, we have had a lot of time to reflect on what we are and who we are. Without our community we would be nothing. We probably haven't been very good at expressing this over the years so this is a way to show we really do care and are proud to be part of our local community.
