This programme aims to fill a provision gap by giving young adults with additional needs, who are stepping out of full time education, the chance to take part in regular physical activity sessions, including gym work, fitness training, and rugby-based exercises at Leicester Road. The sessions are designed to help improve strength, coordination, and confidence, while also encouraging teamwork, communication, and key life skills in a positive and supportive environment.
At Hinckley Rugby Club, we believe that physical activity is truly for everyone. Taking part in sport and exercise can have a huge impact on both physical health and mental wellbeing, helping individuals build resilience, form friendships, and feel part of something bigger.
The first week of the Building Better Futures programme saw the young people inducted into the gym, where they learned about safe and effective exercise techniques. Working together, they then designed their own circuit training session, which they’ll deliver themselves in next week’s session
