MINIS AND JUNIORS PRESS RELEASE (Full reports can be found in individual team sections)

Hinckley U7’s - local Derby with Nuneaton ends in a draw.
Match 1 was very close. Handford keeping Hinckley in it by providing 2 excellent try’s, unfortunately Nuneaton came back in the last play of the match to win 3-2.
Match 2 another hard fought battle. Handford dominating with a hat-trick of try’s & a further try for Schoonen. The Nuneaton team with some great side stepping proved too much winning 6-4.
Match 3 saw 2 of Hinckley’s smallest players Carvell and Carey scoring trys, great running from both. Thomas with a touchline run saw him added to the score sheet. Handford definitely showing he’d had his Weetabix with 2 more try’s. Nuneaton fought back well but Hinckley winning 5-3.
Match 4 saw some of our less experienced players click and dominate the Nuneaton side with try’s coming from Wynne, Causon and Forbes. Thomas produced a hat-trick of try’s and put us well out of Nuneaton reach. Winning 6-3

Hinckley U8’s - Win four of six matches against Nuneaton
Hinckley U8's entertained Nuneaton on Sunday playing six matches between more senior players and development teams from each side. Entertaining attacking rugby played by all players, Hinckley winning 4 of 6 matches played 7-2, 6-5, 7-3, 6-8, 6-4 and 4-5. Top try scorers Moore, Carvell (8 each) Burton, Perry (4 each) and Barnes, Goodwin (3 each). Excellent tagging efforts from these players also from Guest, Morrissey, Hurley-Smith and Collerson.

Hinckley U9s – Unbeaten HRFC U9s maintain a clean sheet against Nuns
Three matches were played against Nuneaton this week in which the U9s maintained their unbeaten run and kept three clean sheets.

The first match started with both teams trying to make their mark by dominating possession. Eventually though, it was Hubbard for Hinckley who opened the scoring when he took possession at the halfway line and sprinted the ball to the try line for 5 points. Towers, Colloby, Grewcock, Thomas and Catt all added to the tally while the visitors were unable to pebetratye the Hinckley defence.

The second match proved to be a tighter affair for Hinckley Tigers. Possession was evenly balanced for much of the first half with both teams defending magnificently. Eventually however Smith scored for Hinckley, closely followed by Inman and Perkins for a 15-0 win to the home team.

In the final match, Hinckley engineered another rout of the visiting team as they scored 9 tries through Hubbard (2) Grewcock, Halka, Davis and Sansome (4).

Hinckley U11s – Home to Nuneaton
Hinckley welcomed Local rivals Nuneaton in what proved to be a one sided affair despite Hinckley's lowest turn out for some time with only the pleasure of one substitute.

Match 1:
Hinckley got off to a flyer in the first match of the morning, the forward pack quickly stamping their authority on the match with excelllent rucking and scrummaging which camped the visitors in their own half for long periods, the pressure paying off through Sharkey who crossed for the first score, Lockett added another score before half time and cooly slotted over the conversion to lead 12pts to 0pts at half time.The second half Nuneaton failed to get a foot hold in the game as Hinckley continued to pile on the pressure and with Sharkey at his best added another two to complete an excellent Hat Trick. Final Score Hinckley 22 Nuneaton 5pts.

Match 2:
Hinckley showed no mercy in game two, great tackling from Handford,Coghlan,and Ellershaw halted any serious attacks from the opposition, and with the forwards once again dominating at the breakdown and scrums along with Inman in the Lineouts, turned ball over time and time again, and with the backs combining excellently allowed Phipps and Sharkey to cross for a brace with both converting their efforts to give Hinckley a 28pts to 0pts lead at half time.
Hinckley dominated once again in the second half , Scrum Half Ellershaw catching the visitors asleep to cross and convert to extend the home sides lead, Hinckley's dominance truely shone through when props Lockett and Smith added to an already impressive scoreline to end the match Hinckley 47pts Nuneaton 0pts.

Overall Hinckley 69pts Nuneaton 5pts.

Hinckley U12’s – Win at home against Nuneaton
Match 1 Hinckley 5 Nuneaton 0
Hinckley took on local rivals Nuneaton on Sunday and began by pushing deep into their opponents half for most of the first period of the initial game. Their effort was rewarded by a try from Spencer.
In the second half Hinckley did particularly well in the scrums, aided by a strong debut performance from Mogford-Walsh. Despite their efforts Hinckley were unable to add to their score in the second half.

Match 2 Hinckley 20 Nuneaton 0
In the second game, Hinckley again got off to a flying start with a try from KA Jones followed by scores from Gibson, Cavanagh and Massarella. Again Nuneaton held back the home side in the second half.
Hinckley continue their strong start to the season with wins from all matches so far and no points scored against them.

Hinckley U13’s- Impressive win over Vipers
Another high scoring win for the U13’s saw tries from Miller, Bailiss (2), Ridgway, Madden, Pope (3), Wheatcroft (2) and Fletcher blow away a shell shocked Vipers side who had little reply to a strong Hinckley side, final score 57-7.
