Hinckley's season began over at Belgrave in a low key victory over some determined and well organised opponents. It was a useful run out for the 22 players involved, with 1st XV debuts given to Issac Norton, Mark Lord, John Roux, Dave Weston and Liam Warren.

Hinckley scored early through hooker Jordan Goddard, converted by Lord, and after a period of Belgrave pressure due to a number of penalties given away by the visitors, Norton used great power through the contact to score on debut. On the stroke of half time, Josh Smith knocked over a penalty to send the visitors in 15 - 0 up.

The second half became increased fragmented and little evidence of cohesion was seen by either side at times. However Hinckley pulled further away in the closing moments, with well taken scores by Mitch Culpin and Lord on the right hand side.

A useful run out, the squad move to face Leicester Lions on Saturday.
