Dings played with a strong wind in the first half and following an early yellow card for James Moreton, Joe Hawkesbury went over from a maul to give the visitors an early 7 - 0 lead.

Hinckley hit back though with Callum Dacey and Ben Pointon leading an excellent break out after a mid field turn over before the ball was moved wide to Luke Hibberd who finished superbly in the left hand corner. Dacey then hit a superb touchline conversion.

As the wind picked up getting out of their own half continued to prove problematic but it looked as if Dings might struggle to get over again in the half despite the conditions and after a yellow card to Matt Smith, but in the final moments of the half Hawkesbury scored his second for a 14-7 half time advantage.

In the second half TJ Wilstead got on the board with a long range penalty for Dings early on before two quick tries - one from a maul from Dale Bowyer and the second from Callum Dacey meant the game was nicely set up at 17 all going into the final 20 minutes.

However with the referees whistle dominating the scrummaging all day it wasn’t surprising when a decision here was the one which lead the deciding kick, with Wilstead kicking a second penalty.

Hinckley tried their best to work into position to get the chance to win the game but in the end the visitors hung on for the tight win.
