Hinckley couldn’t hold onto their first half lead in Camborne on an afternoon where injuries ended up being the story of the day.
Playing down the hill, and with the wind in the first half Hinckley made the perfect start with Ben Pointon finishing well off a line out in the early stages, and he followed this up with a short range finish after 15 minutes, converted by Archie Heard.
The home side got their first score after 22 minutes before Hinckley missed a golden opportunity to extend their lead with an overlap on the right hand side. The play however lead to influential scrum half Pointon having to leave the field injured - the first of six injuries picked up by Hinckley on the day.
5 minutes before half time Reuben Logan barrelled his way over under the posts and with a Heard penalty as well added to the score Hinckley where ahead 22-7.
However on the stroke of half time was a key moment with, after multiple phases of strong Hinckley defence Matesevi broke through to run in from distance.
With the conditions in the second half the excellent boot of Matesevi kept Hinckley pinned in their half, with the home side scoring 3 quick tries in 15 second half minutes
Hinckley kept battling with carrying of Logan and Bee in particular looking dangerous and Matt Guilfoyle gave Hinckley a deserved bonus point 5 minute from time; but it was never going to be enough to force the result.
