Two physical sides played out a battle of attrition at Leicester Road which went the way of Luctonians following two early second half tries.
Hinckley started superbly with a try from the first attack from Matt Guilfoyle after a grubber kick from Louis Haley, in what ended up being the only try of the half.
Jamin Hodgkins then kicked a penalty for Luctonians after 10 mins but then missed one again soon after, on a very greasy day when kicking was more of the order of the day than running.
Hinckley kept trying to break down the door but some strong visitors defence kept them out, limiting the remaining scores in the half to two Rory Vowles penalties.
It was Luctonians however who came flying out of the blocks early in the second half and it was these scorers which turned the game from James Mear and Connor Dougherty.
Hinckley then worked their way back in with two penalties from Vowles which made it 17 all but straight from the kick off a Hodgkins penalty took Luctonians back ahead.
This was a lead they never then lost with a late try From Dave Whiting securing the victory despite Hinckley’s best late endeavours.
