2 for James Martin with other tries from Glover, Skerritt, Lamb and Sale. Wilson 6/6

Hinckley continued their 100 percent home form with their biggest winning margin of the season beating relegated Macclesfield on Saturday, with some excellent tries combined with some opportune finishing.

Unusually at Leicester Road this season it was the away side who struck first, but in odd circumstances when a loose ball was volleyed through by the home fly half and an opportunistic tracking line by the winger saw him chase through and collect to score.

The conversion made it 7-0 but this was the last points Macclesfield would score. Hinckley certainly weren't at the level they would want to be during the first half but still managed to go in 14-7 up. The first try came with 10 minutes of going behind with Joe Glover darting over, with Jamie Skerritt doubling the try count from the shortist of ranges, the former Syston players second of the season. Joe Wilson, who was 100 percent with the boot converted both tries.

The second half saw things open up much more for the home side, with a combination of some powerful and committed running, along with some poor defensive play from the visitors giving chances, of which 4 were taken. The first score of the half went to Mitch Lamb, who after having to backtrack to collect a loose ball managed to pick a gap in two visiting tight five forwards to make a break and run through unopposed, slightly assisted by a intelligent blocking line from David Peck.

The game, and bonus point was then assured at the start of the final quarter when James Martin scored with his first touch and won after he had a second with a set play move giving him the opportunity to finish. Then, in the final moments Alex Salt found himself in space on the short side easily outpacing one of the visiting props to bring 40 points and a very satisfying result.

Next week Hinckley are on the road to Yorkshire to face Otley who as always will provide a very stern test, after a high scoring game Vs south last weekend.
