Fortress Leicester Rd was rocked it’s foundations after 10 mins as a powerful Luctonians side scored 2 tries and possibly could have had a 3rd. It took some intervention from Captain Salt to steady the ship and shake some realism into his troops. Down 0 – 12, the Hinckley side started the fight back with a try on 12 minutes. At 5 – 12 one of the most bizarre incidents that has ever happened on a rugby field occurred. Hinckley had a scrum 10 metres out centre field. They got the shove on and literally shoved the Luctonians pack back 10 metre and then over the posts with one of the posts collapsed.
The game couldn’t continue on the main picture and was moved to the old 1st team pitch where the team then dominated for the rest of the game running in another 7 tries. The try scorers were Martin, Glover, Dacey x 2, Salt, Peck, Turner and Coltman with Glover converting 6.
Overall, an outstanding performance after a slow start and the most bizarre of incidents.
We move on to a top of the table clash next week against Stourbridge and are then at home against Wharfedale on Dec 9th. We hope to see you there as this side is getting better and better and well worth the admission fee.
