Hinckley travelled to Macclesfield full of confidence after last weeks win over Preston, however they were brought down to earth with a bump coming away, once again away from home with no points.

The visitors started much the brighter, playing the majority of the ball for the opening 10 minutes and although the attack was lacking any significant penetration, you felt it was a matter of time before Hinckley took the lead, and they soon did, with Joe Wilson picking an intelligent line of Glover to beat two defenders and score his 6th try of the season under the posts. He converted his own try for a 7 - 0 lead.

Macclesfield got into the game with an intelligent kick over the top which was then offloaded to the left winger, and soon after they took the lead ripping the ball out of contact 70 metres out, and after just one breakdown, debutant Ollie Povoas was out paced as the home side took a 12 - 7 lead.

Hinckley came back before half time, with Gareth Turner controlling the ball at the back of a secondary maul to score. Wilson converted to continue his excellent form, however as the sun started to go down, so did Hinckley's control and hope of taking anything away from the game.

Before half time Macclesfield took the lead out wide after trying to score through the forwards, and with 2 penalties added soon after half time as Hinckley's discipline let them down, suddently the visitors were looking at a 23 - 14 deficit, which became too much with 20 minutes to go, when a Callum Dacey kick was charged down and the Macclesfield player managed to re gather and run in from the half way line. A third penalty made it 33 - 14.

A late penalty try from the Hinckley forward's gave some hope of a come back, however it wasn't to be.
