Hinckley resumed their N3M rugby campaign entertaining Bromsgrove at Leicester Road.
Injuries and unavailabilities again affected the squad as they took the field in bright autumnal conditions.

That ,however, was as good as it got as they were outfought and out thought by the visitors and their own inability to put together the basics of the game. The referee didn’t help as he failed to let the game flow and Hinckley failed to adjust to his interpretations of the laws, especially at scrum time.
The line out creaked, the breakdown was a continual concern as the visitors turned over a fair amount of home possession as Hinckley struggled to put together any meaningful phases of play. Bromsgrove were allowed to dominate every aspect of the game as the home side were unable to build a solid forward platform and consequently never threatened. Positive decision making and even basic catching and passing seemed beyond many of the players as the game progressed.

Down 0-13 at the break with only one excursion into the visitors 22 in the half became a full time score of 3-27 at the final whistle. Mark Lord’s penalty being the home sides only score.

What a difference a week makes when compared with the confident and go forward style of the victory at Bournville. After suggesting the wheels were back on the black and amber machine last week this performance was more than disappointing. More harsh words will no doubt be shared at training this week in order to remedy the present, less than ideal, start to the season.

A game to forget from a Hinckley perspective so enough said and move onto the next game away at Burton next week.
