Valiant effort lacks reward

A really good game ensued at Broadstreet RFC, but it was always going to be a hard one with the home team having a clear advantage with 20+ players on offer to the Staghounds bare minimum of 15 due to late injuries, tyre deflation and people having to work. The game was an interesting back and forth affair with Broadstreet taking control early on. Undeterred the Stags dug deep and managed to finish the first half all square 15-15.

With numerous players playing out of position due to the late changes in the team the message was clear at half time, keep it simple and apply plenty of pressure defensively. Both were adhered to but Broadstreet somehow still managed to squeeze through for an early try. This dampened the Staghounds briefly but once again they dug deep and came back with a response of their own. Unfortunately the positional problems and lack of replacements gave Broadstreet the advantage in the second half and ultimately the win over a valiant Staghounds performance.
