Staghounds impress with another good win

With nice sunshine, a big crowd and Hinckley 1`s players in attendance to support the Staghounds everyone was hoping for a good days work at the office. A Staghounds win against a very strong Lutterworth side was going to put them in contention to win the league. At meet time it was obvious on the day with Lutterworth`s 1`s not having a game they were going to throw everything at the Staghounds turning up with a heavily laden outfit of 1`s players and 2`s.

Both sides started the game 50/50 with good territory and possession but it was Lutterworth that were soon using their strong ball carriers phase after phase on attack. Hinckley kept strong in defence and managed to keep out the early onslaught from Lutterworth. If Lutterworth had managed to convert their early attacks into points it could have been a different game.

What was impressive from the Staghounds was the ability to soak up the pressure in defence and then counter attack from any turnover ball presented to them. The intensity and discipline showed reaped rewards with gains in territory and possession for the Staghounds resulting in points on the board.

With the end score ending 30-10 to the Staghounds, all in all it was a highly impressive performance on the day from an ever developing Staghounds. Quote on the day from Paul Walsh watching on the sidelines, "The Staghounds are one of the best 2`s teams I have seen play in a long time".
