Burton away for the Legends XV, always an enjoyable place to go... much glee amongst the ranks, the forty year old skipper driving meant many a pub stop on the way home and as promised we did every pub on the left, then turned round and did every pub on the right, added to this we had the excitement and anticipation of watching regular Legend XV Rooster ‘Phil Collins’ Harris banging on his drums in the evening.
So to a windy Burton we sped to face a tough Burton A outfit. They had only lost two games all season and had many an old and recognisable face from their First Team of years gone by. Indeed, as anticipated they were a sizable, experienced, well drilled and angry bunch and thoroughly deserved their victory. The black and ambers did not help their cause gifting the home side a twenty point lead in the first half hour playing into a stiff breeze, in the main down to some soft defence. The later fifty minutes Hinckley turned their efforts round somewhat and scored three crackers all from within their own half, the good looking number ten prevalent in all three aided by the impressive forty year old full back’s brave and straight running.
See match day snaps attached, picture one: some outrageous foul play caught on film and the second photo of Strat’s leg and his reasons for not playing, Cellulites setting in as Ange beat him up!
So Lutterworth at home next week, followed by South in the County Cup Final on the 4th February and no doubt another mega pish up!
