Loughboroughs visit to the school of hard knocks

Loughborough came with an ample squad of players to Hinckley. Hinckley were determined to make the best of the great weather.

Simmons, Curless, Dunne, Causon, Fisher, Palmer, Moore, Gamble, Deacon and Biggs had the honour of meeting the challenge. Hinckley won the toss and Gamble lost no time in running in the opening try. Few enough tags were taken by both sides in this half, and the high half time scoreline of 7-5 to Hinckley reflected this. Simmons took a hat-trick, Palmer (2) - one from an excellent turnover and Dunne also scored. Causon assisted in two tries with quick offload passes. Second half saw Biggs, Moore and Fisher come on. Biggs immediately made a big impression taking tags. Hinckley came out tagging well and Loughborough struggled to match their pace. Dunne, Causon, Fisher, Moore, Simmons and Gamble all took tags, and tries were scored by Simmons, Palmer and FOUR by Dunne. Final score 10-13 to Hinckley.
