All Barker and little bite!

Two squads met Barker Butts at this double header with Loughborough.

Middleton, Stockton, Doyle, Cooper, Bennett, Marzie, Kime, Cheshire and Farrell were first up. Hinckley opened up with a good tally of tags being taken by all. Stockton, Doyle and Bennett took the lions share, allowing Middleton and Doyle to put Hinckley on the scoreboard. Half-time score was 3-3. Second half and Marzie and Cooper came on to bolster our defence. Scoring was more free flowing, despite both teams tagging well too. Doyle, Cooper, Bennett and Marzie took more than their share of tags. Tries were scored by Middleton (2), Stockton (1), Bennett (1) and Marzie (1). Unfortunately, Barker Butts took one more, stealing the win at the end, making an 8-9 scoreline.

The same squad played BB a second time (different BB lineup) and the result could not have been more different. Farrell made his mark on the first half with the only try (for either side). Cooper and Doyle once again providing the back-bone of tagging. Second half and tries came from Middleton (2) and Doyle (1). BB could only answer the one try and never looked like getting back in to the game with tagging and turnovers from Hinckley.

The second squad got one crack at BB (having played Loughborough earlier. Biggs, Moore, Dunne, Causon, Gamble, Fisher, Curless, Simmons and Deacon took part. All players took a handful of tags. Notably BIGGS (who won "man" of the match), Moore and Causon. Tries were quickly run over by Moore (2), Dunne (1), Fisher (1) and Simmons (2) this half, leaving BB trailing against a 6-3 halftime scoreline. Second half, Hinckley were determined to seal the deal. Dunne took a try, and Simmons was left open no less than three times to score. Gamble, Fisher, Biggs and Curless once again got busy shutting the door on BB attacks (including a six-tag turnover). Final scoreline was 10-5 to Hinckley.
