Loughborough Festival

A great performance by everyone today in the sunshine for once. We couldn’t quite win overall but won 3/5 games played.
A slow start took us 4 -1 down at half time against Paviours and even with a much stronger second half we couldn’t pull enough tries back to win. So lost the first game 3-5.
Game 2 was against Melbourne where we were more determined and stronger in both tackles and runs. Finishing with an impressive 7-4 win.
Game 3 against Corsairs – we carried on with the same winning streak and finished with an amazing interception by Kian to finish the game. Another win 5-3
Game 4 against Loughborough was much tougher, their tackling and running was good and we couldn’t quite match them. A loss of 2-5
The final game was the most impressive against Ilkeston. The tries kept coming with lots of breakaway runs and strong tackles causing turnovers. A win of 9- 5.
A great day with a focussed team who played well together. Thanks Nick and Richard for coaching and encouraging them and to Mick for reffing.
