Melbourne

Melbourne on the stadium pitch. Having played them away at the start of the season, we knew we were going to face a big side looking to get pay back.
The first 20 minutes and our Hinckley lads proved to be too strong, 7 tries scored by 5 different players.
For the last few weeks we have been trying to encourage more players to work together and to become more team focused. Wednesdays training session brought back the channel work with a progression of linking passes to a second channel. Today’s game saw it working well with most of the tries coming from multiple passes and linked play.
The second 20 minutes Melbourne got their game together scoring 2 to our 1. Despite a slow down in tries the game continued to be contested well.
The final 20, we scored another 2 without reply. Today’s result was great and enjoyed by all, I think it was particularly good to see in the end 6 different players getting over the line. All the lads should be pleased by the whole team effort, but a big thank you to all those who offered to play for Melbourne.
